CYCLING PORTUGAL 2027: ROTA VICENTINA & THE ALGARVE

October 20–29, 2027 · 10 Days / 9 Nights · Lisbon to the Algarve

Portugal’s southwest coast is one of Europe’s best-kept cycling secrets. Starting in Setúbal, just south of Lisbon, this route follows the wild Alentejo coast and the Rota Vicentina through cork oak countryside, whitewashed fishing villages, and dramatic cliffs above the Atlantic, finishing in the sunny Algarve. Expect quiet roads, sweeping ocean views, golden beaches, fresh seafood, pastéis de nata, and excellent local wines. Late October brings warm days, comfortable riding temperatures, and fewer crowds.

This trip is limited to a maximum of 35 riders.

Accommodation: 9 nights in 4-star hotels or similar, with breakfast daily. Both double and single rooms are available, but single rooms are limited.

BASE PRICE: €1,390 per person (sharing a double room)

A standard rental bike is included. Gravel and e-bike upgrades are available for an additional cost. We’ll share details at the info sessions.

TRAVEL & TRANSFERS

The tour begins in Setúbal, about an hour south of Lisbon, and ends in Lagos in the Algarve. Transfer options from Lisbon to Setúbal at the start, and from Lagos at the end, are being finalized, including the possibility of a return to Lisbon so you can book a round-trip flight.

FREE DAYS & OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Days 4 (Vila Nova de Milfontes) and 8 (Sagres) are free days to ride, rest, or explore. Optional activities will be available at an additional cost, and suggestions will be shared closer to the trip.

NOT INCLUDED

Flights, airport transfers, lunches and other dinners, drinks, museum and monument fees, the Setúbal–Tróia ferry crossing, tourist taxes, personal equipment, and personal expenses.

Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon and travel to Setúbal. Bike fit, briefing, and welcome dinner.
Day 2: Ferry to Tróia, then cycle to Santo André (69 km / 43 mi)
Day 3: Santo André → Vila Nova de Milfontes (56 km / 35 mi)
Day 4: Free day in Vila Nova de Milfontes
Day 5: Vila Nova de Milfontes → Aljezur (70 km / 43 mi)
Day 6: Aljezur → Carrapateira (55 km / 34 mi)
Day 7: Carrapateira → Sagres (65 km / 40 mi)
Day 8: Free day in Sagres
Day 9: Sagres → Lagos (47 km / 29 mi). Farewell dinner.
Day 10: Departure

Total: about 362 km / 225 mi over 6 riding days
